Description:
The book "Canción Andaluza", transcribed by guitarist David Leiva, sees the light of day on the tenth anniversary of Paco de Lucía's death.
The Algeciras-born guitarist's deep connection with the copla, which marked his childhood, is clearly reflected in his last recorded work, released posthumously in 2014 as a tribute to the sounds that influenced him from an early age.
On this album, Paco de Lucía puts his distinctive stamp on eight copla classics, mostly composed by the poet Rafael de León. These classics not only retain their original essence, but also revitalise the sentimental memory associated with them. This album constitutes a flamenco reinterpretation of an intrinsically related music. "Canción Andaluza" definitively embraces the fusion between copla and flamenco.
The transcriptions in this book are designed for two guitars, adapted according to the theme. In addition, the transcription of the melodies of the cante has been included in three pieces.
The scores are presented in both musical notation and tablature, detailing the fingerings for both hands and the dynamics.
