“Capricho” castanets are the most professional castanets of Castañuelas del Sur.  These castanets have a big soundbox that provides a low and enveloping sound. Their shape is the perfect fit with the hand. These castanets are light and have “orejilla" (ears). These exclusive castanets are made and personally authenticated by the master artisan and founder of Castañuelas del Sur, Juan Vela and his son, artisan builder, Juan Manuel Vela who currently carries on with this tradition. The castanets have a case, covered with fleece lining and clasps. These castanets are perfect for concert performers. Their composition (canvas or veined canvas) is more resistant than fiber. The canvas is the most solicited for dances as “jota”.
